STUDIES USING HPLC-PDA IN GABAPENTIN N-DERIVATIZATION REACTIONS WITH 9-FLUORENYLMETHYL CHLOROFORMATE (FMOC-CL)

چکیده

FMOC-Cl is a derivatizing agent widely used both in N-protection reactions of a-amino acids as well quantification and detection amino related molecules using HPLC-PDA or fluorescence analysis. In this work we studied the reaction with gabapentin. However, it was observed that degradation gabapentin-N-FMOC to FMOC-OH occur simultaneously presence basic medium which specific for gabapentin derivatization. The accelerated temperatures above 45 °C also by time contact reactant product medium. study, derivatization were shown be cleaner more efficient when an FMOC-Cl/gabapentin ratio 2:1 used, at 25 over period 15 minutes.
